JCollection Homepage

Hello Thorsten,
I now seem to be in control of much of the configuration for JCollection and have set my access levels as I want. I am not using any rating system or reviews or any input from front end - at presesnt it is to be for display purposes only.

My question is - is it possible to hide the "overall: ooooo" indicator from the front end item display? I have no need for this and it would puzzle the viewers of the page since rating is not being offered.

yes, the mood is better today - I am usually not that harsh...
You can either disable the rating/voting in the global parameters (via the control center), or disable the rating plugin altogether (In the Joomla backend, go to "Extensions"/"Plugin Manager" and filter for the JCollection plugins - the rating plugin is somewhere in the list).

I have already disabled the JCollection - Rating plugin from the plugin manager. Also I did already choose Hide for rating/voting in the Global parameters.
But still with these selections the overal: ooooo line is still displayed for items, which is why I was puzzled and asked the question.

oh, I am sorry, I thought there is an option for that - but it seems there isn't. I'll include one for the next release. Meanwhile, to get rid of the rating, delete the line "echo $ratinghtml;" in com_jcollection/views/category/tmpl/default.php

Hello Thorsten,
I finally got around to altering the code, which worked, thank you very much!
However it needed the addition of
echo '<br />';
to prevent the next line from running on after the item name.

All is well
