Fatal error? 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago

Hello
I have been trying to use JCollection to create a catalogue of archival material but ran into all sorts of problems after I had set up my own items and categories. I got a fatal error message, so decided to uninstall.
I reinstalled to try again but the database was still there, all my categories and items were still there. I deleted all the categories and items and created new ones but the error is still being activated when I try and go to the menu item from the front end.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function JText() in /home/vhosts/riversideplayers.co.uk/httpdocs/components/com_jcollection/views/category/tmpl/default.php on line 56
I think that I will not get very far with this extension.
Is there any way to get out of this problem?
thanks

Hi,
uninstall usually does not remove the database entry, hence they are still there. As the message says, the fatal error is a typo which occurs if the number of items in a category is supposed to be shown. It is fixed in rc3.

Considered the incredible amount of money you paid for the component, you have certainly the right to DEMAND a working copy! Sorry for being in a bad mood.

I too was in a bad mood, but not so bad now as to prevent me from saying a big thank you for your quick reply.
I would like to get this extension working as I think that it has the ability to do what I would like.
I did not demand anything, but merely asked for a way out of the fatal error.
I am still at the evaluation stage but if I can get a prototype running then yes, I would be willing to pay.
I have many questions about setting this up, but first I would like to know what I need to do to eliminate the fatal error? Is it a typo that I made when inputting data? What is rc3?
thanks.
