Remove Item from List 2 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi Thorsten,

i'm trying JCollection and i think it's very very useful. Congratulations. You are doing a great work!

I need some advices.

I've just added item to list. Now i wish to remove it from list but i can't.

Can you help me? Is there a way to do it or i must remove item from list by query on database?

Thank you.

Hi,
thanks for using JCollection and reporting back! Indeed it seems from frontend there is no "easy" way to remove an item from a list (in list view). You'd have to click on "edit" and then "sort", there is a "delete" button, meaning that the item is removed from the list - oha, I just discovered that this appears to be broken, I'll look into that. From the item details view it is a lot easier, just use the "listcat" plugin. It allows to add and remove the item to/from lists very easily (by clicking on the "+/-" buttons).
Let me know if this works for you!
Thorsten.
Update: The "+/-" seems this is broken as well. Sorry about that, this is a bug.

Hi,
Thanks for answer. Actually i've inserted items and created lists from backend. Following your advice i've realised that i can manage lists from frontend and i've found add/del in modify section.
...but, you're right, it seems to be broken.

I'll try to repair it while i'm waiting for bugfix.

Thanks again.

Regards,
Tevin

Hi,
but in the backend it should work, only the frontend seems to be broken... (edit the list, then "sort", there is a "delete" button meaning "remove the item from the list").
Regards,
Thorsten.

Hi,
I just realized that I used the wrong access settings, it does indeed also work in frontend (there seems to be a minor glitch when adding an item to a list vie the listcat plugin. The new list might not show up immediately, but upon reload). Just make sure that the list (and list category) parameters are set such that the logged in user is actually allowed to change the list.
Thorsten.
