TOPIC: Weird Error Message
#182
Weird Error Message 10 Months ago
I am now getting this error message on my test site:
Warning: file_get_contents(ecs.amazonaws.com/onca/xml?Service=AWSEC...onseGroup=Large&) [function.file-get-contents]: failed to open stream: HTTP request failed! HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request in

With great relief, it does not appear on my live site.

Is there a fix for this problem?

Hi,
1. check out the different ways to use the Amazon webservice in the configuration. If you have PHP with cURL support, it is best to use REST+cURL.
2. Amazon did change the webservice access, this is also related to your earlier question. Every user now has to supply their own Amazon access key id and associated secret key. Input both values in the configuration (v0.4.3 _only_!) in order to continue using the webservice.
HTH,
Thorsten.

Great! Those suggestions fixed everything. First I updated to 0.4.3

In my Configure section, I changed REST Setting to REST + DOMIT + CURL. That got rid of the error message.

Then I retrieved the Amazon keys, the format of which I had no idea was changed. That fixed the output and images problems.

Thanks for the quick response.
