hello all - hello Thorsten,

[well this was a hard day - i have worked on the sites for several hours...] I also had a look for some good ways to present the books...

well i want to talk bout the simple image rotator - from joomlaworks.gr

on my search for an appropiate way to show some books i found this one here:

first example: www.standrewsv.org/parish-online-catalog...=28441&catid=185
second example: www.ropl.org - can you see the example - the Featured books-example?! I want to do such things...

can this be done with the simple image rotator - from joomlaworks.gr extensions.joomla.org/extensions/photos-...es-rotators/2111?qh=
or should we hack this right away!? Or even better: you can insert the image rotator to your jCollection.

Hi,
yes, I could include something like that in the list module (as soon I've finished the million other things I am planning to change on the component). An external component would of course also work, but you would have to take care of the images and the links to the books manually.

well, I probably _could_ do it - I don't know if it will actually happen. There are many more pressing things to take care of for the next release. BTW, if any of you haven't read the latest announcement, please do so, and please switch off the trackback feature, otherwise you'll get tons of spam reviews (note that if you're already receiving the spam, switching trackback off does not stop it, unfortunately). The bridge to the trackback component is done and in testing phase, so that is something that will definitely make it to the next release.

I am not sure that I fully see your point but the examples you have linked to seem to have thumbnails that anchor to a different page via
a hyperlink. Each thumbnail is associated with a hyperlink and the
hyperlink is activated when you click the thumbnail. You might wish to
have a look at the section "Thumbnails as hyperlinks" in the sigplus
manual:

If you decide to use sigplus (without hacking), you will need a
labels.txt file as described in the manual section. If you would to
eliminate the labels.txt file altogether and construct the hyperlink

what do I think about what? I am certainly not spending time tweaking some other component to suit _your_ needs. As I said, maybe I will extend the list module, but it has no priority. If you really want it, so go ahead and do it! (Or pay somebody to do it for you.) It is open source software after all.
