I love the component and it looks really good. The difficulty is in adding new material.

The front end wizard is a bit spotty in doing the lookups. I've tried several browsers and sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Moreover, it doesn't give any indication it's trying something and doesn't give any error messages that would help figure it out. A button would help - look this up! Or maybe a quick entry if you know the amazon ID.

The backend is confusing to grab something from amazon. To get info from amazon, I have to create it, then go down to the info fields, open the amazon parameters, then save a new info set under a name. Took a while to figure this out. And then, it doesn't grab the amazon image for browsing like it does on the front end. In addition, for the image parameters it doesn't let you set a URL, so you have to manually upload it to the server to a specific directory to select the image. Allowing to just copy and paste a URL would make it so much nicer. [The upload facility doesn't work as well].

So those are my difficulties. However, it looks REALLY nice once the data is there and it is wonderful to grab all that amazon data.

Maybe a bulk import of amazon IDs would be nice in the future, but I know that takes work!

Hi,
thank you very much for your feedback! I am aware that usability is still a big issue, that's why I consider the component "beta". But first I wanted to make sure the functionality is there and stable. At the moment I am also working on some specific features, but also on the interface - it'll take some time, but improvements are comming! (BTW, that the image upload is not working is due to Joomla's very own media upload component not doing its job properly :/ ) Anyway, also thanks for your suggestions, indeed there is a possibility to bulk import Amazon ASINS (put them into a file then import this file using the JCollection import).
Regards,
Thorsten.
