JCollection Homepage

Followed the tutorial on adding an image to Category, but when I want to select the Image, nothing appears.

There seems to be no "Apply" button according to notes for adding images, but only a Joomla "Apply" button for the category.

thanks for the feedback. The tutorial is somewhat unclear at that stage. JCollection expects all images to reside in the folder /images/jcollection (which is created when installing the component). So, you'd have to click (as the tutorial states) "Upload" to upload an image to that folder (the button for the actual upload is what the tutorial calls "apply", but which is actually also "upload", iirc). After reloading the page the image should appear in the image selection list.

I click Upload, windows appear, I double click "jcollection" folder to tell it to upload to that folder, I select the file and click Upload.

The file gets uploaded to /images folder and not to jcollection folder.

If I manually copy files to the jcollection folder it still does not appear. I am using gif files, should I be using jpg or png.

I've got the exact same problem here - when editing one of the category items, I clicked "Upload" to upload an image, and I also double clicked on the "Jcollection" folder to make sure that the file gets uploaded to the images/jcollection folder. I clicked "Start upload", and it says "Upload successful", but to the wrong folder! The file appears on images/ still, and not on images/jcollection/.

One trick that I tried and worked for me:
- go to "Site" -> "Media Manager"
- open the "jcollection" folder
- browse the image that you want, and "Start Upload"
- tada!! The file should appear on the images/jcollection folder now and you'll be able to select it to add the image to a category/item.

this seems to me more a problem related to the Joomla uploader (that JCollection uses) than with JCollection itself. I'll have a look at it anyway.
